Rosedale & farndale
Dawn Haze, Rosedale
These were in fact the old cottages that some of the 3,500 men that worked in Roseddale during the ironstone mining era would sleep in. The beds were never cold, as one man got out and prepared to go to work in the mines another would end his shift and take his chanc eof sleep. The cottages ensured a continuous, albeit small workforce in the valley. Taken on a hazy summer's morning the valley has a dreamlike quality.
