Continuing the success of the residential courses of 2008/9, and having listened to the needs of customers Chris is pleased to announce the addition of these revised 2 night/3 day Yorkshire Coast residential workshops. As well as a relaxing time away with your camera the courses will cover all aspects of the photographic process: image capture, RAW file conversion, editing overview in Photoshop (all using photoshop elements 9, available for £60), and how to prepare the final image for print. (CS4 and lightroom will be used if people have those programs) Expect to visit locations such as Whitby, Saltwick Bay, Staithes, Robin Hood's Bay, May Beck, Goathland and Scarborough amongst others, with plenty of time for discussion and "classroom" based post-capture tuition. Courses typically include 2 dawn shoots and 3 afternoon/evening shoots.

A typical day is broken up into a dawn shoot, followed by breakfast and then a meeting to plan the day ahead.

There will be a special hand-held module to get you shooting without a tripod, something very useful if on holiday, or working in awkard areas around woodlands etc.

Chris will run through all the main editing techniques, from RAW conversion through to photoshop editing and on the final day you will be able to select your favourite photograph of the course, which Chris will edit for you. The photograph will then be mounted for you to take home.

Course YC8. ravenscar. October 28-30th 2012. 2 night/3 full day course. £675 ** places available**

To ensure your photographic holiday is as relaxing and rewarding as possible you will be staying in your own en-suite room at the Raven Hall Hotel in Ravenscar (www.ravenhall.co.uk) on the stunning Yorkshire Coast. As well as the photographic tuition the price includes all breakfasts and evening meals from the hotel's main menu. Once at the hotel, Chris will be using his own carto transport you to the course locations. This is an exceptional offer, don't miss it!!

(Remember.....each course limited to just 4 people, early booking is recommended) . A non-refundable deposit of £150 is payable at the time of booking, balance due 4 weeks prior to commencement of course. Courses begin at around 11am at the hotel and normally finish around sunset on the third day.

Partners are welcome and double rooms can be organised. There will be a surcharge to cover the difference between the single and double occupancy, including evening meal etc. Partners will not be able to attend the course itself, and would have to keep themselves busy until the course ends for the day, but would be welcome to join the rest of the group for dinner. Unfortunately no fees will be refundable after the balance has been paid, as other potential clients may have been turned away if the course was fully booked. I would strongly recommend taking out some kind of holiday insurance to cover you against illness etc, which would enable you to recover all or some of the monies paid should you be unable to attend. Companies like AA Travel Insurance can provide cover for up to £5000 for as little as £7.
