WORKSHOPS & COURSES
ONE DAY BEGINNERS WORKSHOPS AT CASTLE HOWARD. Group days

A perfect gift, or something special for yourself.
Chris is pleased to announce the continuation of these one day courses at Castle Howard. Now limited to just 6 people per course they include coffees on arrival, a photographic session in the grounds, lunch, a further session in the gardens before having the exclusive opportunity to photograph the long hall in Castle Howard.
There are 2 courses on offer.
"Introduction to photography"
Suited to new photographers or those wishing to gain a better understanding of their cameras these courses cover: camera set up, focus and composition techniques as we work around the fountain area, lunch, creative photography using aperture priority in the rose garden, the exclusive opportunity to shoot in the Long gallery of the House itself and coffees/Q&A to finish. Critiques regarding composition are carried out as the day progresses to help you learn more effectively.
"Intermediate"
Suited to photographers who have mastered the basics of photography these courses will focus more on correct tehnique and composition with emphasis on: camera set up overview, metering the light, using ND Grad filters correctly, creative composition, and post capture image evaluation using the camera's histogram.

The courses are ideally suited to digital SLR users and a tripod would greatly enhance the learning process. Spare tripods may be available, make sure to sort with Chris before the day by contacting him on 07920 044094. Tripods will be loaned out on a fist come - first served basis, and are very limited so please phone to confirm.
Both courses are primarily suited to those wishing to improve or learn landscape photographic techniques.
